Jones College of Business Young Professional Advisory Council
As a member of the Jones Young Professional Advisory Council (JYPAC) at my alma mater, MTSU... I have been presented with some great opportunities to give back to the aspiring business students and to be involved with the MTSU organization as a whole. It's been such an honor to do this alongside other MTSU alumni that enjoyed their experience just as much as I did and are willing to give back time to the place where it all started for most of us. What makes this even more special for me? Well, one of my professors, who has had me speak at his classes each year since I graduated, actually recommended me to be added to the council and his vote of confidence in me has meant so much!
Business Plan Competition!
I was asked to be a judge for the Semi-Finals of the Business Plan Competition held by the Jones College of Business and the students that put so much time & effort into their business proposals and plans. I was thoroughly impressed by the work they put in, the ideas they had to fill gaps in the markets of their choosing, and by their professionalism.
This meant so much to me because this was the same Business Plan Competition that I competed and ultimately won in 2016 with my business plan for HoneyHill HomeCare. To still be running that same business and to have become successful by staying true to our values and integrity throughout these last 10 years is such a full circle moment. While they did not offer prize money the year I participated, I am so glad the competition has developed so much over the years and become such a prestigious and advantageous event for these students.
I am incredibly grateful to MTSU and their staff that I have continued to work with throughout the years. The finals for the competition are coming up next week and I am looking forward to seeing who comes out on top. Who knows? Maybe they will be sitting where I am in 10 years writing about how they are still operating that same business in the same community! We can only dream!

"Ask Us Anything" Panel
This past month, I was also asked to be on a panel where a group of students were able to "Ask Us Anything" regarding business, potential job interviews, etc. The entire experience was amazing. The students had very insightful questions and some were even current or aspiring entrepreneurs. It hasn't been that long since I was sitting in their seat and yet I have the real world business experience to be able to give a little bit of advice in what I like to see as an employer. Overall, I am always impressed with the initiative & participation in our Jones College of Business students. It's truly the best program around with the best faculty. Looking forward to the next opportunity & potentially working with some of these extremely intelligent & talented students!
